Refundable Ticket
I
f you’ve purchased a refundable ticket, cancellations can bemade anytime before the departure of your flight and the refund will be issuedto your original credit card within 7 days (it should appear on your statementin 1-2 billing cycles).
Non-Refundable Ticket
If it has been more than 24 hours since you booked your ticket,you will pay a $200 cancellation fee on domestic flights and up to $400 forinternational flights depending on fare class.
After you pay the cancellation fee, you can apply the unusedvalue of your ticket toward a future trip with United as long as your new tripbegins no later than 1 year from the ticket’s original issue date, andyou canceled the original ticket before the departure of the first flight.
What happens if I cancel my United flight?
That depends on what fare type you’ve purchased and whether ornot you’ve purchased a refundable ticket.
If you’ve purchased a basic economyticket, you are not permitted to cancel the ticket for a refund after the24-hour grace period from when your ticket was purchased.
If you have a non-refundable ticket youwill be required to pay for domestic tickets and up to forinternational ticket fees (depending on the length of the flight, location, andtype of fare).
